Welcome to Our Humble Home!

God wants his people to praise him using both our minds and our emotions. Mind and heart come together forcefully in music, and so, as Augustine of Hippo said, “He who sings prays twice.”

When the Holy Spirit takes the message of the Bible and applies it to our hearts, we want to use the words that we understand best to thank and praise God and to encourage others to know God better. And if we want to “pray twice,” we also want to use our heart’s musical language.

Language is universal, but there is no universal language, and in the same way, music is universal, but there is no universal music (though that seems to be changing). Many of God’s people in minority cultures love music but cannot engage emotionally with the music of the dominant culture. Our message to them is that God is happy for them to look to the musical traditions they love best, reject the sinful aspects, and glorify him with what is good.

God has richly blessed us by allowing us to take this message to Cameroon four times, Gambia once, and Peru twice. We would like to take it to more places, and are seeking to give young adults the opportunity to work with us and continue the work after our time has finished.

So please enjoy our blog and tell others who might be interested in joining us either as coworkers or as prayer or financial partners.

Again, welcome!
