Music is important to you: that is why you’re here

Bible is important to you: that’s why you are pastors or church musicians.

Bible teaches us:

• who God is; God shows himself to us in it

• who we are (rebellious, lost, on our way to eternal death),

• who Jesus as our only way to know God

• how to please God in the way we live, as in:

• how to treat other people

• marriage (or how to live as a single)

• living in a family

• raising children

• using money

• doing business

• and……much to teach us about making music

Bible has more than 400 references about music & singing & 50+ commands to sing

Bible doesn’t give us a detailed guide as to how to make music , but it gives us teaching about it that can be applied to all cultures and throughout all ages

• In OT & NT,

• instruments of Bible

• then talk about music in our own cultures

• then how to apply it to the music we make in our churches.
